On March 21st are you shooting two seperate 100 yard matches? One NBRSA and one club?

Art,
That’s the plan.
We always have a score shoot in the morning and a group shoot after lunch. On March 21st and August 29th we will register the morning score shoot with the NBRSA.

We had our BOD Meeting at Tomball last week end to set our Match Schedule, and I kept the same Club Match schedule as last year, as none of our Club Matches were in conflict with a Gulf Coast Region Registered Match in 2009.

That includes our 3d match the first Sunday in June. I see that you moved the Texas Shoot Out 4 Gun to that date, instead of the first week end in April that you had last year.

This is a problem. We are not supposed to schedule a club match to conflict with a Registered Event, but I kept the same dates.

I am open for suggestions........jackie

Jackie,
We’ve been trying to get off that early April date because of the NASCAR race for a long time. Once a new date came up we took it knowing we would also have some warmer weather. As we looked for a date for the new Texas State Championship there wasn’t much room except to go back to the April date, luckily the race date has been moved.
We at Denton are willing to move things around. The problem is the number of shoots in our region we must work around.
I too am open for suggestions.. Jon

This is a problem. We are having great success with our Club Match program, and the dates I have are the only dates that our BOD will give us, as we have other club activities that take up the rest of the Spring and Summer dates, or there is a conflict with a Gulf Coast Region Registered Match

I am at a loss as to what to do. I will get in trouble with the NBRSA for having a non registered Club Match on the same day as a Region Registered Match, and I will get in trouble with the Tomball Gun Club for wanting to now change a date after I brow beat them to death to get the ones I have.

Not meaning to be contrary, but we have been holding our Club Matches on the same dates for three years. When I got these dates 3 years ago, there was careful consideration that wel were not in conflict with the NBRSA Gulf Coast Regional Matches. Untill now, they have not been........jackie

Jackie,
I talked with Scott earlier today. We plan to get together in the next couple days and try to find a different date. I'm not 100% sure we can, it was difficult to come up with what we have. I got so many emails about moving that match away from the race date I thought this was the perfect time to lose that April date for good.
I'll keep everyone posted. If anyone has any questions please email me anytime... Jon

For the out-of-townees it's an excellent idea to stay away from Race dates. Since the last match coincided with a Race weekend I paid 40% more for a room. When I commented on the increase the proprietor told me a good portion of the motels/hotels in the local area DOUBLE their rates on Race days.
