Holbrook's First Airgun benchrest was won by Dave Shattuck!

65-70 sunny but 10-20 MPH switchy wind with gusts to 35 kept the X count down.

Len Sawyer brought several of his airguns and after the match did some 100 yard shooting with his .25

I want to thank evey one for helping move the targets to the 25 yard line.

Al Hadfield for calling the line and scoring! I think he will shoot the indoor match on May 3.

Dave Shattuck UL-1 232 3X UL-2 234 1X UL-3 233 1X total 699 5X
Paul Bendix 230 1X 232 1X 232 1X 694 3X
Len Sawyer 232 0X 233 0X 226 2X 691 2X

On the pictures Dave is in the middle bench, Len is on the end shooting the LOUD Rapid with a hat on, Paul is on the end shooting the QUIET rapid (bald no hat) All Rapids were .177

Paul Bendix match director Holbrook.

Every one had a good time! The bad thing we didn't have to send any targets in for record scores. The Good thing May 3, we might have to send 3 targets in as it's a indoor match.

Dave Shattuck New airgun stock?

Dave,
I had to add this picture! I didn't notice your gun you were shooting on rimfire, when I was filling out the equipment list. When did you get a Turbo?

I know what your thinking in the picture. How can I put the THEOBEN in this stock.
We all tried to find you one more point so you would have a 700.
Paul

First of all, I want to thank Paul for taking on the duties of becoming match director for Holbrook. For those of you who haven't picked up on this, Paul not only became the new match director, but, over the winter he also built 6 fantastic cement topped benches for their outdoor range and 4 wooden topped benches for their indoor range ...plus he also built one wooden topped bench for me to use in my barn. They are all as stable as can be and a pleasure to shoot from, plus very portable.

Now, to answer your question about my buying a Turbo: it wasn't mine, but rather Penny Hadfields, and the one-piece rest was hers as well. Al and Penny were kind enough to offer me the use of Penny's gun and rest as she was unable to join us on match day due to a prior commitment. And, all I can say about a Grandfield rest is: WOW! Thank you both for you generosity.

I did go back to using the Fulgram rest for shooting my Theoben as the gun fit better into that set-up, but once we have our new stocks for our guns, that may change in a hurry.

Thank you again Paul for running a good match. And yes, I do believe we all had a good time as none of us were in any hurry to see the day end once we were done shooting.

Dave

Congratulations Dave, And thanks for the pictures. The first match is over and I'm happy to see you all had a great time. Can't wait to see what you folks can do indoors.

Take Care,
Joe
