custom Mauser 98

I was hoping I could get some feedback from fellow members about a rifle I recently acquired. I bought a collection of rifles and one of them is a 6mm Remington chambered Mauser gew 98. It has a redfield 3200 24x scope. It also has a canjar single set trigger. I have decided to sell or trade this rifle and I am hoping I could get some guidance on where to sell it or what it would possibly sell for. Any help is much appreciated!!

The way I see the market now you would be hard pressed to get over 800 for the rifle. To get more you would need a maker of some repute. Gunbroker is where I would go or Armslist.

I would agree that gunbroker would probably be the best place to find a buyer. It doesn't fit in any of today's benchrest criteria and wouldn't make much of a hunting rifle either , maybe a groundhog gun. The nostalgia factor would probably be the biggest draw. I would think $800 would be very optimistic.

You guys are full of good news!! I appreciate the help, but since I allowed about $800 on the trade for it so I might be underwater for value.

The scope is nice maybe you should break it up,
sell the scope separate from the rifle.
Lets face it a mauser is a mauser. Its still worth more then some think though due to it being sporterized.
Maybe $450 to $500 on the scope and about 350 to 500 on the rifle.
You just need to put on an inexpensive scope.
right now there are plenty of reasonably priced rifles for sale.

I put it up on the trading post for $800. I really don't have to sell it, but I will try to keep it together for now. You probably are right about separating the two because I've had tons of offers for the redfield. I guess I'll see what happens. Thanks for the advice!
