Conventional Flat base vs pointy Boat tails in Bartlein T twist ?

My 6PPC current barrel is a Bartlein T twist ( gain ) 14,75 to 14,2 : at 200 shots , it seems very slick and polished , a patch that felt tight in the preceding Krieger now seems to glide easier .
I have shot it with Gentner 65 BT - the new boat tails made after the Mojos- (29,2 gr of VN133 seated 0,0086 " below jam ; .258" bushing in a.262 Kelbly standard reamed chamber , and had decent results ( like several 5 shot in match 0,177" groups ) , but i am not satifsfied .

I am inclined to think that in these cut rifled Bartlein or Kriegers pointy boattails of recent design bring better results than conventional 7 ogive flat base bullets like the Knights or even the Watson 68 , or Eubers 68 FB 9 ogive . But i have an itch to give them a try anyway , especially for 100meters ,even though i know the KISS principle of 1 load for both distances .

Anyone tested this configuration of "older" FBs in this barrel ?

Cut rifle barrels have been around a long time. Bartlein is the new kid on the block but a couple of the experienced personel came from Krieger. Many millions of FB 7-8 ogive bullets have been put down these tubes and set a lot of records. The new designed bullets have nothing to do with cut-rifle, it has to do with trying to design a bullet with less wind drift. Most will tell you that the double ogive and pointy bullets are a little harder to tune and keep in tune but once you learn how, they typically show a little less drift.

As far as I know the BT does not engage the rifling of the barrel and as far as I know the BT-- especially in a 6mm or smaller bullet-- is not really going to show much improvement in accuracy in ranges under 300 yards -so I buy FB bullets. On the other hand--the guy I buy my 6mm bullets from says he has the same feedback for both 66gr. that he makes for short range shooters--so if he is low or out of the FB---- I buy BTs and do not indulge my prejudice.....

I don't have any hard data on how differently the BT shoot in the Gain twist compared to conventional twist.
However I do believe that several National Champion ships and Super Shoot championships have been shot with BT bullets.
I think also Jackie shot his recent great agg with BT bullets.
I like the BT because I feel I get more consistent seating pressure.
Possibly the BT bullet is a tad to long for your barrel. Many guys who have gone to the Double Ogive BT bullets have gone to a faster 13.5 twist because the bullet is a little bit longer.
I shoot a FB and a BT by BIB bullets on the same point up die and the BT is a tad longer than the FB.
