Young shooters
I love real stories like this. Thanks Jim for posting. Maybe this is not correct forum for this, but I'm gonna do it anyway.
We have what I call "Orange dot Shoot" close to where I live. (S.E. NC) We have as many as 32 shooters. Shoots starts like this.
One shooter @ a time, target is 1-1/2" orange sticker w/black diamond in center, pasted on 9" paper plate. Everyone gets 2 shots @ this dot. This is 200 yd comp. Anyone that hits dot is in,, if you miss you're out. Each competitor has his own numbered plate w/dot. Next round the orange dot is one inch,, this continues for three rounds. Hits are in,, misses are out. Next, the dot is reduced to 1/2" lAST MAN STANDING , GETS THE MONEY IN THE POT. This year, aan Eleven year old boy won this match and $300 pot money. I found a Benchrest rifle, w/1987 Teddy action and Scoville stock. It was in Texas,, amd Mr. Larry Baggett was the gun smith. The boy's name is Wesley. He beat 4 competitors that had won this match more than twice each. I was tickled pinker than usual, seeing Wesley win. He actuall touched the 1/2" portion of the dot 7 out of 8 shots
No rest ,, only sand filled bags the size of a small pillow case for the rest. Yes, good shooting Gage
