Combo Presses

Looking for input on the pros and cons of combo presses like the Hood and Harrell versus something like a Rockchucker and an arbor press in the context of loading at home.

Understanding the limitations of the Hood press as to case size they have no equal. If I couldn't replace mine it wouldn't be for sale at twice what Scotty Crawford is asking for one now.

I'm strictly interested in PPC- and BR- length cases. Don't think there is an issue there.

Any issues with the stability of how they mount when, say, forming PPC cases?

For any heavier duty use like case forming I use an "0" press [Rockchucker or an old Pacific ]. I use my Harrells for reloading at the range and as it is the only arbor press I currently own I use it for seating bullets at home when preloading for a match.

I also use a cheap Lee press for depriming cases that will be loaded on my Harrells. The spent primer handling on the Harrells is the only disappointing aspect of an otherwise excellent press.

Forming PPC cases?? Hovis
Have I used the term "forming" incorrectly?

If so, consider the restatement: "Any issues with the stability of how they mount when, say, making PPC cases from Lapua 220 Russian brass?"

I don't have a lot of room in my "play area". I'm thinking of getting a combo press rather than a "O" press and and arbor press. Would leave me more room for other toys and be portable as well.

For Full-Length sizing. The combo presses will handle any job that will fit in it's opening.

Here are some pics of my solution to the small house problem.

I mounted my 2 presses, to aluminum plate, that is c-clamped to the desk/table. Works great. And you can do this at the range.
Guess that is similar to the Harrells clamp.
