The trial run for the first match on the meadow went well. Had some good breeze to deal with as the aggs show.
We had a brisket dinner on Friday evening and some shot under the lights to get tuned up for Sat.
Thanks for coming and hope everybody had a good time. I don't know how to post pics but will send some to Chet Whitebread to post

No, But it will be next year. This was just a trial run to test the waters. I didn't know if anybody would want to even come back. It was ran according to NBSRA rules, all range rules were followed, moving backers, ect

How far is your range from Luther? Also, will regular height(8ft) wind flags work?

Also lodging facilities in the area. I'm interested in attending next year.

Charlene's Meadow is a first class range. Has really super nice covered 6 bench shooting range very flat and nicely moved out to 300 yards and beyond. This time it was VERY Windy and Switchy. 4 to 5 foot flag all the way out. Richard has made Charlene's Meadow a Brenchrest shooters dream come true. I am hoping to be at the first NBRAS match held next year and hope to be able to shoot at all he holds.

Thanks Richard for inviting me to your first shoot, loved every minute of it, and a super big thanks to Charlene her team for the really nice Friday dinner.:):)

Charlene's Meadow

is an awesome place for a match. Richard has done a really good job at making this a good place to shoot. He and Charlene (probably mostly Charlene) put in a lot of work on this. It's a beautiful place to shoot and the brisket was good too. It's worth the trip just to see the operating room that Richard calls a shop. Richard, Charlene, and the girls ran as good of a match as I've ever been to. Nice range, nice family, and nice shop. You should be proud Richard. Thanks again for inviting us.

Richard, thanks for putting on the match and for yours and Charlene's hospitality. My GPS on my phone got us there pretty well the most direct way from my house to yours. Beverly was having some serious doubts about us making it there. We figured out the best way although a little longer mileage wise when we went home after the match. We went North to Mullinsville and then over to Mineola and then dropped down on 283. Going that way, I can get back there without a map. Following the GPS method of getting us there, I'm not sure I could do it and go the same way without it. You definitely have a beautiful place and quite a facility. Looking forward to the next one and thanks again.

Thanks guys for all the kind words. After evaluating everything there are a few things I need to get fixed and/or changed, but overall was super happy with the way the match went. This winter will be working on the moving backers for 300 yds. Already have the target boards built. I haven't decided on the format for next year but it will include 300 yds, hopefully under the lights for possible world record aggs. Most evenings (not all) it gets to be "tunnel conditions" out on the range. Wouldn't that be fun to shoot in conditions like that at 300?

I want to give most of the credit to Charlene ( super supportive ) and my girls ( a little crazy at times) son-in-law Eric
Travis Barnes did a great job of scoring. It's always been a dream of mine to hold a match out here on the ranch. I know it's not a big range, but try to make it a quality shoot for everybody to enjoy.

Got some pictures of Charlene's Meadow. Richard and his wife Charlene and crew put on a very well run match and was enjoyed by all. Charlene's Friday night dinner was a real Fest and he had the best looking target crew. Richard and his family with some help from his good friends has put together a really super nice range called Charlene's Meadow.

Meadow shoot

Glad to post a thank you to Richard, Charlene and his other helpers. It is a neat place to shoot. I really hope I get to shoot there next year. Very fortunate to finish 2nd in the 2 gun. Between my smithing, testing and brass prep I'm starting to get a feel for it.

With Charlene's Range opening in Kansas and a new range, North Holston Gun Club, in Saltville Virginia benchrest may be on the upswing.

( The US 283 Mike mentioned above runs through the Red Line, Its also the dividing line for Kansas bird hunting season.)
