Case full-length sizing problem

My .308 Win fired cases measure .470 at the base, which is the SAAMI spec. I just bought a Redding full-length sizing die because at Sunday's shoot some of my cases were getting hard to close the bolt on (there on their 5 th reloading with just neck sizing). The Redding die measures .465 at the base and there is no way my cases are going in there no matter how much lube I use. What am I missing here? (Shot a 574-16X in 600 yard F-TR Sunday ;)).
Thanks,
Richard

.470 into .465

They'll go, that's what they make case lube and 'O' presses for. I use Imperial Sizing Wax. Remember they aren't going to come out .465, they'll spriing back a little. Are yours small base dies? The dimension varies a little from one manufacturer to another. Start long and check to make sure you aren't pushing your shoulder back more than 0.001-2". - nhk

I found the problem! It was a mechanical issue with the press. By the way, after full-length sizing the .470 cases in the .465 die, the cases spring back to .469. Thanks for the inputs.

If the lubed case goes in and out of the die ins a satisfactory manner, has the correct shoulder bump, body diameter dimensions, neck tension, and is straight enough, the process is perfected. The dimensions of the die are really of little importance except to the issue of what size brass they produce.
