...run me a velocity estimate for the following:

300 grain .338 bullet (Berger preferred, Sierra will do),

in either a .338 Lapua or .338 Edge (Edge preferred -- 114 grains H2O case capacity, full),

with 79 grains of H-4831 SC?

I know for real numbers in my rifle I'll have to go to the range & set up the chronograph, but it's 2.5 hours round trip, and a close approximation would sure be helpful.

338 Edge with default settings in Quickload with a 300gr Hybrid which ends up with a loaded round length of 3.6" and a 28" barrel I get 2613 fps and just overr 59.5ksi @ 114gr H20 case capacity . My guess was 2650 before running it through QL, does that sound 'in the ballpark".

Thanks, James. Yes, that is perfectly believable. I get 2,770 with 88.4 grains Rel-25 & the rest the same (measured at 15 feet in front of the muzzle). It is a 30-inch barrel, by the way.
