Steve,
C'mon now, give us the whole story. You just can't tease us with the "Alabama man sets pants on fire" headline and not give us all the details.

Ok. Wife and I went to Nawlins to visit a friend and attend Mardi Gras for the first time in over 25 years. It was a hell of a trip.
First night my pocket was picked. Hotel wouldn't cash a check since I didn't have a credit card to guarantee it! Since it was a holiday weekend my bank couldn't even approve sending out a new card until Tuesday which would be too late, so I had to borrow money from my buddy and have my sister wire me some money to make it through the weekend. Good argument for having an Amex card even if their annual fees are outrageous.
Saw a bunch of parades, ate some REALLY GOOD food, and had a blast visiting with my buddy, who was my best friend in high school and college.
We were spending Fat Tuesday with my buddy going to the street parties in his neighborhood. We were at a neighbor's home out in the yard and the temps were quite chilly. His neighbor had one of those radiant propane heaters that attach to a propane bottle, and I was warming my buns. Next thing I know someone is yelling and I feel a little too much heat in the caboose area...pants on fire! It was 2 in the afternoon and I had only had one beer so I can't even blame it on inebriation!
I hit the ground and someone grabbed a seat cushion and smothered the fire. Went into the house, dumped some ice in the tub and I sat down in it to cool the area down. My buddy loaned me some pants and we took off for the emergency room.
Imagine trying to get to a hospital in New Orleans on Fat Tuesday...took a while to say the least. Streets blocked off everywhere.
I had 2nd and 3rd degree burns on the back of both thighs. ER bandaged me up and told me to go to the UAB burn clinic when I got back to Birmingham. Pain wasn't that bad due to a combination of Percosett and the fact that some of the burns were third degree, so the drive back to Birmingham on Wednesday wasn't too bad.
After fiddle farting around for a week they decided I needed skin grafts, and I had surgery this past Monday. Got out of the hospital Thursday (the day I was supposed to fly out to the Cactus). I'll be working from home for the next two weeks. Pain isn't too bad as long as I'm still, but the transition between sitting and standing is rough.
My daughter is due to deliver my first grandchild the day before the Shamrock, so it's possible that Rachel's Glen will be my first shoot this season...having a bit of withdrawal here!
