MEDIA ALERT
Hang on to your shorts competitive benchrest shooters; Ben Avery will have new moving backers for the 2011 Cactus Classic! Speechless, overwhelmed with emotion, more excited than a kid on Christmas Eve - well; who could blame you.
Al-righty then - calm down. The collective intelligencia of Arizona benchrest shooting made a new set of moving backers at Doc Marsh's place on Saturday, February 19th. Below is a photo of the happy crew after completing the prototype. Their names and work assignments are as follows:
L-R: Art "Big Daddy" Clegg (supreme supervisor & overseer), Gary "The Oozer" Ocock (was not allowed to weld; however, was allowed to wear welding hat and pretend), William "Doc" Marsh (benchrest benefactor, underwriter & real doctor), Ed "Mr. Happy" Maxwell (journeyman welder & part-time TV/radio weather personality), and Thomas "The Stiletto" Maxwell (Savant, wise man, & expert caliper surgeon).
On a more serious note; if you are coming to the 2011 Cactus Classic please email Gary Ocock (Onehole149@aol.com) if you plan on sharing equipment/benches with particular shooters. Gary must receive your written request no later than March 7th. After that date benches will be assigned at random via a blind draw while Gary wears his welding hat. I've also attached another copy of the registration form in case you missed my original post. Please direct all questions or comments regarding the 2011 Cactus Classic to Messrs. Ocock.
As a note of interest to all those living in the frozen tundra of other locales, the Ed Maxwell 2011 Cactus Classic forecast calls for sunny skies, highs in the low 70's and early morning temperatures in the upper 40's - don't forget to bring your golf clubs.
