I am not sure what they are called, but they are used to check to see if a shooter has completely knocked out the orange dot in 22 cal shooting matches.
They are the same diam (give or take) as a 22 cal bullet and have a small magnifying glass built into it. When dripped down in the bullet hole, it will magnify any part of the dot that is left.
