Bullet tipping

By "tipping" do you mean adding plastic or aluminum tips, like the Nosler or A-max tips? Or do you mean meplat trimming and/or pointing up in a die?

I use a Whidden tipper (pointer), and am in love with the results. I bought the #1 insert additional for the pointed projectiles, and is nice for all VLD types. The #0 that comes with it is perfect for non VLD hollow points, Sierra, Berger Match, Bib.

I have noticed there are two different pointing dies - Hoover and Whidden. The Widden die is $ more that the Hoover.

Anyone have experience with both and have input s to which is a better die?

Are you trimming metplat first, if so what brand? What are the results on paper that you have noticed. It's alot of money and time to spend just to make the bullet LOOK better. I'm interested in how it has improved your shooting.
