No. But a Google search casts doubt on it. You should be able to look down the barrel with a light source in the background and verify whether it has sharp lands and grooves or not.
I think that is just an illusion created by the angle of the crown. I have noticed this on some rifles with a rounded crown.
thank you for replying. i had checked the browning web site for specifications and it said nothing about having polygon barrel. i looked at it like you said and the lands are wide enough to make it appear to be six sided. so yes it is lands and grooves. thanks
