Brass Prep For 1000 Yard Shooting

I'm trying to get some comments about uniforming flash holes and primer pockets in brass preparation for long range shooting (1000 yard). After necking down Lapua 6.5 x 47 brass to 6 x 47, do you uniform the flash holes and primer pockets BEFORE or AFTER fire forming the cases, or do neither as it's Lapua brass? If you could also give me your rationale for your choice, it would greatly help in setting up my brass prep procedure.....thanks.

pma3- I myself, clean up the flash holes and fireform before doing the primer pockets! I have found it gives the brass a chance to form to the chamber first, and if you have a no turn neck fire them first then just clean them up. but get the burrs out of the flash hole first.

I use a Dasher and a 47 i fire form first to let them take a set then do all my prep work. With the dasher i run a tight neck so i just give myself enough clearance for bullet release and finish turing after fire forming either way will work except for a Dasher and i want to fire form to 1.550 case length…… jim

Thanks for the replies. Makes sense for the brass to "set up" in the chamber first, then do the primer pockets afterwards. I am currently doing both after fire forming, but with time on my hands and having another 160 cases neck turned and ready to load, it would be convenient to do them now rather than next spring after fire forming....I guess I'll stick with what works and makes sense...thanks again.
