These are ones used back during WWII at the Saginaw steering gear plant, here in Michigan. They are almost perfect, for being used. All the ones, I saw, are made of High Speed steel. Mine are for the .30 cal barrels. Dick has many.... maybe a hundred or more. They are $8.00 to $10.00 a piece. He has drills for .30, 6.5's, .50's. So if you want to play, with Deep hole drilling call Dick T. @313-366-1061. I didn't ask if he had some reamers.

Working in the aircraft industry, the term "Gun Drill" is familiar to any aircraft mechanic/sheet metal worker. For AC use, they are drills that have a single flute and only cut on the face. They are often used to drill very specific dia holes where an oversize is not authorized and cannot be tolerated.

I am assuming that they are the same thing as what you are referring to. The one's that I have are sized for more standard dia holes like .250, .375, etc.
