Blog Glitch???

I happened to notice this morning that a portion of my blog was MIA.
Is anyone aware of a possible problem with the software or another explanation?

Sometimes I have to sign in...........

3-4 times while I'm here. I'll go to post, and I get the form,...."You can't post, you haven't signed in:mad:...." Well, I do a go-back and look, and there my name is, before I started to post, plain as day; so, I just go ahead and re-sign in, but it IS a bit aggravating sometimes. I can't complain TOO much, I mean, the price IS right, ain't it???? Thanks, Wilbur, I appreciate the effort. :);)
 
Thanks Brian, but that seems to be totally unrelated to what I’m experiencing. I have one of my blogs missing completely, with no history it ever existed. It was there yesterday and gone today. Since I haven’t made any additions or edited any of my blog recently....it remains a mystery to me.

I’m only curious and not complaining because as you say “the price is right”.

This always happens to me after I compose a long post (long in regards to time.... not long in composition).
I end up loosing my carefully worded post.....and usually get frustrated and log out.
No big deal, as this taught me to keep my posts........ "pithy".:)

Thanks for looking.

It disappeared a couple of weeks ago and is still missing. It was titled "Hopewell Method".

Wouldn't be a big deal except that several other web sites asked my permission about linking it and some of the other submissions I've made.
If I remember correctly, it was approaching nearly 8,000 views and I thought maybe it was a bandwidth limitation or something similiar.

Like I said, mostly curious and not complaining.

A little tip for those who have lost a long post. You can compose in any word processing program, and then copy and paste into the "reply to thread" composition area. If there is a problem getting it posted. You have a copy to try again with. Also, not that anyone but me needs it, word processing programs have spell check. (One reason that I usually use Firefox is because it has spell check built in.)

I can't determine what happened. I did, however, find a bunch of sequential entries in the "moderator log" where a moderator deleted blog entries for folks that did not or have never had blog entries. That seemed strange....but it was dated a few months back.

Yours is one of the best blogs we have so far. Please do your best to repair the missing parts and continue it.

I don't believe that any of us moderators did anything to it on purpose. I know that I didn't.

Thank you both....Wilbur for looking and Bill for the compliment! Considering how little the blog features are used though, I’m not sure Bill’s praise has much value. LOL
You know what I mean....even a wallflower in a Miss America pageant will be in the top 5 if that’s all the contestants there are.

The time frame Wilbur mentioned doesn’t jibe with the disappearance, so maybe it’s just an unexplainable rip in the fabric of space/time and my ramblings were sucked into another dimension.

I keep meticulous documentation of all my testing and the blog posts are composed in “Word” and copied/pasted for each submission, so re entering it only requires I get off my lazy butt and do it.

My only problem is deciding whether it’s productive for me to spend any more time on it. One of my motives for starting the blog was to try and develop some curiosity about more sophisticated means of testing, but the main reason was to lure in those individuals who are already engaged in some of the things I’m doing and would never share or post data on a public forum. In that sense, my goals have been met and I’ve developed numerous contacts with both well known and unknown shooters/testers who are doing some pretty amazing things. I think the majority of this forum would be shocked at how many accomplished individuals are actively engaged in the pursuit of rimfire accuracy but will never talk about it or compete.

Yup, it is productive!

Yes, it most certainly is productive! You may find you have an army of lurkers out there absorbing information. You may post info that may or may not seem productive at the moment. Only to inspire someone today or tommorow, or in a few years.

The info that you post may serve as the impetus for changes we cannot yet fathom. You never know.

'Course if you don't post info, it may not happen. Sometimes surprising advances come from small tidbits of info that may seem mundane.

Now, I quote an interesting farmer with an unusual grasp of statistics and a profound interest in rimfire accuracy:
