August 14th 100yds
Sept 5th 200yds
October 9th 100yds - Bell City Bash and Bar-B-Que/awards ceremony

We are working hard to make the matches at Bell City as fun as possible and so we are setting up a Bell City Benchrest Score Shooter of the Year award that will go to the VFS shooter with the highest cumulative points for three-100yd and two-200yd events held at our club (100 and 200yd scores will be combined). There are seven matches available, and the five best scores (three at 100yds and two at 200yds) will be tallied for the shooter of the year award.
As of now I am considering this award for VFS shooters only, HOWEVER, if there is enough interest in other categories I would be happy to open the option. It is simply a matter of finances at this point, and VFS brings the most/consistent returning shooters. If there is enough left in the cash box at the end of the season I would be happy to recognize the other classes with some type of award. The other classes would have to adhere to the same cost and match/score requirements.
There will be a one time $20 buy in to be elegible for the shooter of the year awards at the end of the year. The last shoot of the year will entail an awards presentation and barbeque all paid for with the procedes from the previous matches (separate from the shooter of the year funds).
1st - 3rd places for the shooter of the year will receive a cash award and a plaque. 1st place will receive 50% of the pot and a traveling trophy with their name, date, and score engraved on a plate, 2nd place will receive 30% and an engraved plaque/trophy, and 3rd place will receive 20% and an egraved plaque/trophy.
We are also going to be taking orders for t-shirts (designs to be displayed at the matches) if there is enough interest in such items. I would also consider the option of giving out t-shirts as awards in lieu of cash or plaques.
As usual breakfast and lunch will be offered at the matches for a minimal fee, and I am hoping to host a little barbeque of my own the night before each match for those traveling out of state and looking for a cheap meal.
We look forward to a great year of shooting, food, and friends. See you at the range!

looking forward to it

See you there, Mike. You did a great job last year. If you need any help, let me know.

Looking forward to another year. Should be great fun. If you need my help just holler.

Great job Mike. I'll get there as often as possible.

Thanks, guys. I am looking forward to getting my butt kicked by the both of you.
Can't wait to get out there!

Bell City Shooter of the Year plaques are in and the targets are numbered. A prototype target holder is in the works that will hopefully make target changes faster and help make those nice perfect holes that we all like to see. An official scorer has been procured...my long suffering wife will be doing the scoring for the year.
I have promised her that if she helped me out that I would take her to dinner, and line dance at the Cadillac ranch after the matches...didn't say for how long, but I will do it! I have also gotten her a t-shirt stating her official title and a little bit of humor on the back side. Pics to follow once it comes in.

Just a gentle reminder for all those able to attend the matches at Bell City our first match is April 24th at 10am.
The new target holder prototype is going to cut our target changing time in half, and I'd like to thank George Boyle for his generous donation of time, expertise (he has a custom woodorking business), and supplies for the frames. I did have an offer for a four wheeler to help get the target crew back and forth, but no convenient access to a trailer (there was a trailer that was available, but would make for a lot of work to get the quad to the match).
I have had a chance to get my new 30br out for a few test runs with the new frame and I think they both are going to do just fine this year (as long as I don't go screw'n 'em up!).

AR class will be contended at these matches as well, and if there is enough of a following I would be happy to arrange for some type of award for those who are participating. Let me know in advance if you will be brining an AR, and if there are more than 3 or 4 guys I'd be happy to get something together.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.
