I know this has probably been replayed a thousand times but I feel we can never be reminded enough about safety. I hope this area was okay to put this.

This weekend at the range I found a ruptured case on the ground. My immediate thoughts were hot load, but the neck area was begging for me to take a closer look, so I did. I took home the exploded case and rummaged through my casing until I found a close match. From my investigative work it appears someone shot a 7mm-08 in a 7mm WSM, look at the pictures below. I have a 7mm-08 case, the ruptured case, and a 7mm WSM case.

Anyway you guys be careful out there.

Thanks
BB

Kewl!

That's probably not conducive to good accuracy. :D

Getting the 7WSM brass to begin with will save this guy a lot of money cause they'll be able to fire it more than once. :D:D

I bet no three rings of steel was gonna help this person!

Saw something similar quite a few years ago when Remington decided to start calling the .280 Rem the 7mm Rem Express. Someone fired a 7mm Express in a 7mm Mag rifle and split the case from the head to shoulder. I only say the case, but heard that the rifle came off looking sort of second hand out of the deal. Blew off the floorplate and it, the mag spring, and follower apparently went separate ways.

Thru the FLS die, a bit of solder & it will be as good as new - what's the problem?

I remember way back seeing some shots of a guy's gear after he loaded up his .270W with his .308W ammo. The projectile's ogive apparently neatly took up the headspace.....
