Barska rifle scope

Has anyone any experience with Barska 8-26x50 Benchmark 30mm Rifle Scope ? Price is $319.95.

Looking at the price common sence tells me it is a piece of junk but every once in a while one gets lucky. I dont expect it to be on a pair with Nightforce or Leopold 8,5-25x50 30 mm but is it usable or in the category with Simmons and such ?
 
Years ago a friend brought his rifle to me a week or three before a big match & asked if I could check the bedding out. I rotated the rifle in my hands & said it needed rebedding. He bit back a rude comment a couple of times & finally agreed that if he had thought there was a bedding issue, then there surely would be one during the big shoot.

If you think the scope might be junk now, how will you feel when you're depending on it for that shot?

For $320, or just a few dollars more, you can get a new Leupold, with an unlimited lifetime warranty, no matter who owns the scope. For that matter there are a lot of high quality used Leupolds available, again with a lifetime warranty. Like comparing a "Yugo" to almost any good car.

Thank you guyes for your input I will leave the Barska alone.

Scopes are like cars once you have owned and used a realy good one you will never be compleatly satisfied with something less.
 
I have had good luck with the 8-32X50 Burris Black Diamond.

I have many Leupold and one NightForce.

For the $ the Black Diamond is a good value. Warranty is excellent.
 
nothing with the barska name on it is good, and without a doubt, nothing they make is worth more than $75!
 
Gun is only as good as the optic. Buy used if you can not get new. Weaver makes a very good scope for the money.

Thy shalt not mention barska on a bench rest fourm!!

I have had the displeasure of looking through a barska scope. I couldn't see the targets at the 500 yard line clearly enough to take an important shot.
. I totally get that some of us don't have wallets that can stand the pressure that brands like nightforce, USO, and the like can put on them. For the kind of money that you are talking about you are not going to find much in the quality department. The super sniper, Falcon menace and the tactical scope from wonder optics are three of the few exceptions that I know of. Can these brands compete with nightforce, USO and the like"? Not even close. they will however, track true shot after shot, come with a life time warranty, and won't break the bank.
 
Not trying to bash Leupold or thinking highly of Barska, just pointing out a fact.

Just who do you think pays for the lifetime warrenty? One reason for the high price. You're paying for the lifetime warrenty.
