given my shilen dga from 1977 if I wanted to make a lv out of it what barrel size would work ?I am just looking for a rougth estimate on it .it has a 24 X leapold scope and a shilen fiberglass thumb hole stock and is now a heavy varmint.

First tell us the length (from bolt face), cylinder diameter, cylinder length, length and muzzle diameter of your barrel and the total weight of the rifle including scope. The reason that I ask is that I will help to determine if you can get there from here so to speak. Also, is it a 6mm?

barrel length is 25 inches.
22 br is the chamber now.
barrel is a shilen # 7 now.scope is a new style 24 power.
action is a 1977 dga with I shilen trigger.
