Barrel block set-up question

Jason

Explain barrel/action that has a pinned barrel. Most blocks these days are clamped on the barrel so how the barrel is attached to the action doesn't make any difference.

I love that thing, brilliant design.

Would be cool if the entire stock was skeletonized aluminum.

I have a Anschutz 2013 that has a action with a pinned barrel set-up.I have a barrel block that will be installed 10mm in front of the action face.
I thought that It wouldnt make a differance if the action is screwed or pinned,
Just checking
Thanks Jason

You don't need a block that large. A 3-4" long split block with a V on the bottom half and a flat on the top will work for you.

Actually your 2013 barrel is clamped to the action, while the 54 actions are press fit and pinned. I use the barrel block mounting for both actions, Mike Ross stock, and it works great. I have attempted to attach a picture

thanks for the info and the picture. Is your 2013 action free floating and not touching the stock at all ? Mine with be at least 3/16 above the inlet, totally floating.
I will post some pictures myself when I progress a bit more.I have a 4" block with sleeves and two 3/4" ech /pillars that come up from the bottom of the stock.
Nice to see others have the same idea.

Jason, the action does free float, but I am considering installing a setup to allow me to place tension on the action. There have been some tests ran utilizing this and the results have been very positive. You can learn more about all of this by checking out what has been written on it on http://forums.delphiforums.com/Smallbore/start. A lot of very good smallbore info there.
