Has anyone here used the Barnes 30 caliber TSX bullet on Deer, Bear, etc.?.I have a 300 Weatherby Mark V that I want to shoot that bullet for deer, bear, etc, and I would like to get a good hunting load for it. The rifle is a factory original and it shoots really good with a 150 Hornady and 81 gr. of 4831sc but I can no longer use this bullet for hunting in California, we have to use leadfree bullets,. If anyone out there has some good loads for this combination, any help will be appreciated. T.I.A.

I use the 140 and the 85g Tripple shock......

in my 7 Mag and 243. My brother uses them in his 308 the 135g TXX.

They are very accurate bullets, and they copper foul very little...very impressive.

I jump the bullets from .035-.050 from the lands.

Since the TXX bullets maintain 95%+ of their weight, you can shoot a lighter bullet and get a little bit better trajectory.

Good luck!

Re. TSX

You don't weem to begging replies re:30 cal but I used 225 TSX in a338 last year, they shot quite well and hit unbelievably hard. I took 5 animals with 5 shots, no 2nd shots needed. I think you will be quite happy with them. Just my thoughts, Rusty Carr

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention, the weight of the TSX bullet I want the load for is a 168 grain. Thanks
