I am interested in what owners have experienced with this rest, what they liked and what they thought could be improved. Looking at buying one for my son in law and have never had the privilege of shooting off one of them.

For competition or for fun ??

Do a search, someone commented on his..
He made "improvements/corrections" to the as delivered config.

I've won a few matches using an older version of the aluminum slingshot. Years ago, but I didn't have any problems with it moving around. Of course, we used to beat around on our rests making sure they stayed put.

designed the slingshot rest to be easier to use on very narrow benches, like Weikert PA, where some benches would force you to place one foot almost or off the bench. Nifty idea. I have a cast iron one I bought with a Fudd top and like it although I don't find them quite as stable as a conventional rest with a wider foot print. Also, I'm sold on the joystick for the types of shooting I do. JMO.

I kind of had my eye on the steel slingshot model without the windage top. I still squeeze the bag and that is what he is learning, less to go wrong in my opinion. Is there a speed screw available or are there any cams available for these rests?

I have a Slingshot

a cast one with two Bill Myers speed screws and an adjustable Fudd top on it. It seems to work pretty well but like Greg, I've had a Farley Joy stick for so long I can't do without it. I even made a rear leg for it that makes it a one piece rest and a friend made a swivel for the top so it is about where I want to be I think.

I have a Cast Iron Bald Eagle straight leg rest with a speed screw. The threads are 3/8x16 Sinclair lists that same thread for there speed screw.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Glad to hear from you Brian, hope you are doing well.

The aluminum base Bald Eagles accept the Sinclair speed screw. I'm pretty sure the cast iron has different threads and won't take the Sinclair.

If they are both original Bald Eagle's the threads are the same, Bill used all the same parts, he originally only made Cast Iron for a few guys who asked. At one point he did not let it be publicly known he even made a Cast Iron version.

If there is in fact a different thread for the speed screw on a cast Iron base I would imagine it is the current generation.
