ARC 100yd Score Match - Halloween Match
22 shooters - 17 VFS, 2 Hunters, 3 Factory
Beautiful sunny day, low 80's with a slight SE @ 2-5mph. More new shooters and we welcome William Theobald and Harry Schilling shooting in their first competition.
All 3 of our 'Factory' guns had some slight rifle modification but everyone still agreed to contest their skills. Jon Aronson wins 1st with his 6.5 Creedmoor with a blazing 250-11X. Only 2 Hunter rifles showed this match and they duked it out till Curt Gallaher anchored first place with his 50-5X target on Match 5. His 248-8X beat Tommy Maedgen's 246-6X.
Of the 17 VFS rifles, the first 7 places shot clean. The match boiled down to who was gonna have the best last target. 5th place was Robert Rongero= 16X, 4th was Larry Neal=17X, and 3rd place was Larry Kochanowicz=18X. There was a tie for 1st place at 250-19X between Steve Krause and Bill Sparks. They both shot a 50-5X in Match 5. The tiebreaker for 1st place goes to Bill Sparks, he having the better score in Match #1. Bob Maedgen gets an honorable mention for his 18X count. Good shooting today by all the riflemen.
Next match is Sunday of Thanksgiving Weekend. That's Nov. 28, starts at noon. Be flexible about Dec match as we may move it up 1 week so as not to shoot on the 26th, day after Christmas. We will decide at the next match.
