June 27, 2021 Watermelon Match
Austin Rifle Club - 100yd Benchrest Match for Score
20 Shooters - 16 VFS , 4 Hunter Rifles

Big crowd today with new shooters, good shooting conditions and a range record tied. Cloudy most of the match and lots of humidity in the mid-90's. Sweltering really.
Yes, the ARC range record for Benchrest high score at 100yds was tied by one of our best shooters, Don Mulhall. He dominated with 4 outta 5 best target scores, taking home 1st place honors posting a 250-23X. He gets braggin rights, prize money and today's grand prize watermelon. He's been in this game for 'decades' and gave us lessons today. Congratulations on some fine shooting, Don , staying with it to the end.

2nd place position goes to Robert Rongero with a 250-14X and Steve Krause fills in third at 250-12X. Welcome to our new shooters Norman, Larry, Michelle and Herb.
Hunter Rifles had 4 shooters and 1st was taken by Tommy Maedgen at 249-9X. John Gallaher (who shot the 1st 250-23X for range record) shoots 248-11X for 2nd and his brother Curtis gets 3rd at 248-8X.

The match ran a little long with 2 relays and the Texas heat and humidity is tough. It could be worse though..... coulda been in that Houston humidity.
Good shooting everyone. Next month we shoot the last Sunday of the month, like always. See ya'll July 25, starts at 10 am to beat the heat.
Steve Krause, Match Director
