ARC 100yd Match for Score
19 Shooters - 15 VFS, 4 Factory/Modified
Cold North wind was in yo face dipping wind chill to low 40's. Light rain all morning stopped just before our noon start. Heavy jackets and hoodies the fashion today. Factory guns had it tough today but Paul Shanklin gets 1st with a modified Savage 6 BR at 242-3X. Ernest Mims got 2nd with 235-2X.
VFS had quite a battle with Larry Kochanowicz blasting a 250-22X for top honors. Marlon Goates had a strong finish of 250-18X for 2nd place and Dwight Haby places 3rd at 250-17X. 6 out of the 15 rifles were clean.
The High Scores for 2024 were awarded our trophy cups today. Jon Aronson got High score for factory rifle with a 248-4X. Hunter rifle High score was Charles Moore with a 250-11X, our only 250 of the year in Hunter. VFS rifle High score was a 3-way tie at 250-23X, also tieing our club record. These 3 shooters are consistently some of our best....Larry Kochanowicz, Charles Moore and Steve Brown.
And I'm glad to announce our "Shooter of the Year" award to Charles Moore. Winner of the High Hunter score trophy, Winner of the High VFS score trophy (shooting that 23X TWICE) and the winner of the most VFS matches last year with 3 wins. Congratulations to Charles, he earned it !!
Our next match will be Feb 23, starting at noon. Our club match is the last Sunday of every month, year round.
