ARC - 100 yd Match for Score
15 Shooters = 9 VFS - 2 Hunter rifles - 4 Factory
Temps in the Low 50's, 12-20 mph North wind and bright sun was today's TOUGH conditions. The gusts of wind came with a back and forth , left/right switch. Only one 250 was turned in and only one 249 was shot, all others left some points on the range. In VFS, Don Mulhall gets the 'Mr Clean' title in VFS as he won 1st with that 250-13X. Marlon Goates did the 249-7X for 2nd place. 3rd place was Bob Maedgen with a 247-9X.
With everyone's approval, we experimented with a combined Hunter/Factory class so that there would be larger 'Best Target' kitties. Well, John Gallaher with his Hunter 30 X 44 won 4 outta 5 targets at 246 -11X in this new setup. And in 2nd place, with a well deserved Shout Out was Hal Bogatz shooting a 241 -3X with his Factory 223 and won Match #4 with a nice 50 ! Curt Gallaher gets 3rd posting a 240-4X. We limit factory rifles to a 'factory action and barrel'. Stocks, bedding and triggers may be modified. We will hammer out some details for this classification in future matches....esp if J Gallaher keeps up his winning streak.
Overall, it was hard shooting in heavy winter clothes, 40's wind chill in your face and waiting, waiting for your condition to return as you hear " One Minute Remaining".
But it was fun, wasn't it?
Good shooting guys. Good match
