ARC Benchrest Match Results for Feb 24, 2019
15 Total Shooters -- 3 Hunter , 12 VFS
Started a little chilly today with a north breeze in yo face, otherwise clear and sunny. 1st place in the Hunter group was John Gallaher with a 248-10X. Virgil gets a close 2nd shooting 247-7X. Our VFS guys shot 250's for all 3 top places. Steve Young wins with a 250-16X. Hot on his heels was returning shooter Wes Johnson at 250-15X and having the ONLY 50-5x of the day. 3rd place goes to Don Mulhall at 250-12X. Got to give an 'Honorable Mention' to Bob Maedgen for high X-count of 17X's. Lots of 50-3X and 4X's shot for best Match target honors today.
Revisited last months scoring error on the yardage aggregate tiebreaker and updated everyone on the rule. I had been using an outdated edition of the NBRSA rulebook. I naively ASSUMED that rules are rules and the basics wouldn't change. Like other sports, shooting evolves and inevitably changes will be made usually for the better. In this case, the yardage aggregate tiebreaker now compares scores match by match rather than a previous method of referring to the first record bull of the 1st Match target. It is a change for the better and logically, it makes perfect sense.
Thanks to everyone for their patience on this and also to followers of the forum for pointing out the errors of my ways.
It was a great turnout today ..... a great group of guys. We'll do it again next month on March 31.
