My 1st and most successful 30BR barrel was a no turn and I'm thinking of getting the barrel that I'm just about to do also as a no turn. I've been away from competition for a while and I haven't been keeping up but I figure a new bu** kicking 30 barrel will revive things.

Anyone know if no turns are seeing any success?

Even with the finest lapua brass i dont see it

Sorry, wasn't clear. Even with a "no turn" you still neck turn, but only the minimum amount to make the necks concentric. With Lapua, it only takes .001" +/- a small amount.

Sounds fine then. If you like lots of neck tension then its definitely the way to go- keep em thick as possible.

Tom, "Humble Henry" has shot one (some?) extensively, with fairly good results - last time we discussed it (no-turn neck), he said that eventually, he had to deal with either 'donuts', or, tapered neck walls - get in touch with him, and he'll fill you in.
On the latest reamer, he also made some tweaks to the NK/shoulder junction: he may share those secrets too. Keep 'em ON the X! RG
