I wonder how they can come to the conclusion that he had "weapons training" by looking at the guns he owned. Maybe many of us would likely be considered to have the same based on the guns we own.

If a 25 yr old kid with a glock 9mm and 5 clips is considered a threat, then the libs will have a hayday at one of our houses. I have often wondered what would the normal Joe's thought process be if my loading room was to become public knowledge. All the more reason to keep people that don't belong out of our loading rooms.

The Libs and the middle-of-the-roaders don't give a hoot about what's in your house because they have no idea what's there. The ONLY thing that they hone in on is THE CARNAGE IN THE STREETS because they don't want to become part of it. They don't want to become a piece of the CARNAGE themselves. They're driven by FEAR, not LOGIC.

Our community has to figure out how to Help the authorities identify these folks. The [ones] that are giving ALL of us a bad name simply because we own guns. What we need to do is support programs that help identify these bad apples before they act. That way the majority of law abiding, safe, and honest gun owners are DISASSOCIATED with the CARNAGE PRODUCERS.

It's a public relations effort, that so far, has not seen the light of day. The only thing out there now is one big group against another big group. What we need is one massive group looking for and identifying that very minute segment of our society that's producing these sensational high body counts. :)

It's all about headlines and selling news"
The press is supposed to be the watchdog of our Liberties
It has become a sham with a political agenda.
It's our own fault. We should be scolding the press to tell the whole truth and stop editing news.
It's a tragedy The guy had to be crazy"
Shame on the press at times for twisting and inserting untruths''
Only time will tell . rest assured if the press doesn't hear what it wants to,
then nothing will be printed or talked about. It simply will be swept under the rug.
It happens daily.

Got to agree with abintx, but I wonder how many of these whackos are actually wandering around acting dangerous or homicidal out in public. I also wonder how many of them are acting that way around their close friends/family, and go unreported to the police.

In a lot of instances close friends or family are loathe to report a guy who's threatening them or making dangerous statements. Unfortunately the police, and other law enforcement people either aren't interested because no crime has been committed yet, and/or the law prevents them from taking any action. The First Amendment pretty much protects some whackjob right up until he takes actual physical action.

I have no ready solution to this problem without violating people's rights. The ACLU, and courts would have a fit if people were locked up "for observation" because they got upset, and were not overtly violent. I'd sure be madder than a little wet hen if some do-gooder decided that I shouldn't have a gun because I expressed myself in a manner they disapproved of. OTOH people who go berserk with or without a weapon and threaten to hurt or kill others need locked up. How that's determined is beyond my pay grade.

HMMMmmmm maybe we could get.............

their children to INFORM ON THEM!!! Such a novel idea!!! The story I read on this, was that the guy's Mother deeded her house to the guy AND HIS SISTER, before she died of cancer. He(the shooter), later told friends that he thought his sister and BROTHER-IN-LAW were going to try to "kick him out of his house" or, "the house". So, just maybe, the Brother-in-law likes to go fishing in the Keys during the winter, figures now that he and wifey have community property they can get her Brother's half of the house, sell it, then HE can divorce the wife(sister), then take off w/th' loot. Don't laugh, I saw the SAME thing near where I live, only no one got killed. Instead of going around like "Secret AAAGENT Man" and rooting out "THE UN-WORTHY AMONG US" Maybe it would be better if gun clubs could donate, as a public service, a womens' day at the range, where they could be instructed, by female instructors, on rifle, handgun, and shotgun. Don't know HOW many new members you'd get, plus, maybe someone new to help out with the events; maybe even some new ideas to increase membership and revenue. Or, maybe some clubs could band together and form a big raffle to be held at one range on one specific day where there were other prizes besides GUNS, that would appeal to other family members who perhaps did not shoot. Then, the proceeds would be placed in an escrow account,(w/a bank as a trustee) and allowed to roll over till it was self-supporting, form an educational endowment, where, when the raffle was held, all the clubs would split 20% of the profit, the rest would go to the endowment for scholarships. NAH!! Nobody's gonna be THAT stupid, forget what I said!!:D:D;)

Heard on the radio "news" today that the guy apparently had a history of mental problems, which likely explains why he was a security guard and could get guns. Just lie like a rug.
