Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture, a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand-loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

Please give this the widest distribution possible and contact yo

This gets sort of tiring, you can get energized to kill the dragon year after year but all it takes is for it to slip through just one time and it's permanent. But that is their strategy, nibble very persistently for as long as necessary.

This is "common sense" control after all.

Edit: Oops, that is from the 2008 legislative session, last year. I'm pretty sure it failed everywhere. We'll see if it's tried again.

I'm sure that now that the people who believe in "reasonable gun control" are in control of the White House and both houses of Congress that this will be introduced nationally within the next four years. Likely sooner than later too. The junior senator from Montana who is approximately as smart as my dog's empty food dish IMHO has assured us that no gun control measures will be introduced because there are too many other important things that need done. I could go on and on, but will resist.

What specific kind of ammo and its guns are you referring to ?

The linked page is from last year. Given that, if you follow the link it becomes obvious that the main current focus is common handgun calibers, though anyone who believes that it would stop there would have to be classified as hopelessly naive.

This would totally kill all custom bullet making.
