Accurite?

Hey Tim,
You might ask Bart about it. I know he was using one, also Strangler has one.
I have one without the wind speed or rain gauge. It is very close on temp and humidity to a Kestrel. It is within a point or two.

Here is mine right now on the kitchen counter.

Acurite

I bought an Acurite temperature and humidity unit a couple of years ago. The temperature and humidity readings from the remote were wildly inaccurate. After several attempts to get warranty replacement from the manufacturer I gave up and bought a La Crosse Technology unit. Works so well I bought a second one. Vic

Our grounds supervisor at work just bought a Davis Vantage Pro 2. The main unit sits on a pole outside and it transmits via blue tooth to a tablet monitor in his office. That, in turn, connects to an application on his laptop where historical data is recorded. That app can communicate with a cloud subscription service that he can check from his cell phone so he can be at home and know what the weather is at work. This may not seem like a big deal but we work in New Hampshire and he lives across the river in Vermont. That could be in a different climate zone on some days the way weather changes around here. He is responsible for clearing roads, walks and parking lots on a rather large campus.

Anyhow, if this relates to shooting at all, it's that the Davis units come in a huge array of configurations and prices, and are highly regarded.

That's too bad,

if he has to pay VT income tax like he would if he lived in Maine and worked in NH. Why fund a liberal government? I've struggled with that for years living in Maine. If I were in the western part of the state I would have gone to NH years ago. But, given how conservative Vermont and Maine have morphed, NH may if enough progressives move in. Just a thought.

For 18 years I worked in NH, lived in VT and paid VT income tax because my wife had a good job in Montpelier. In 2016 we moved to NH. She quit her good paying job (it would have been an 80 mile one-way commute) and took one paying half as much. She did start getting an $1100 per month pension from Georgia, which helped. Anyhow, long story short, we ask ourselves every month "where did all the money in the check book come from?" We are so much better off on so many fronts that it's amazing.

Now Vermont, which never had any gun laws, is about to get a whole bunch. They have really gone over to the dark side. I feel like I moved just in time. If you want a chuckle, just Google "Vermont Magpul Airlift". Recoil Magazine and Magpul Industries sent 1200 30 round magazines to Vermont and gave them out on the state house lawn just days before the manufacture and sale of any magazine over 10 rounds becomes illegal there. That's poetic justice, I say.

socialists, communists....if you can tell them apart, good for you...will be the downfall of us all. Some are convinced there are boogiemen in the closet, others know better and have an agenda.
