Please could someone explain in layman terms what an accruzzing pacakge is and if it could be done to a Savage Weather Warrior 116FLSS.

I've never heard of an "accurizing package" unless it's something offered by a specific gunsmith/shop. In that case he/they should itemize what's included. Otherwise accurizing a factory rlfle usually includes bedding the action, free floating the barrel (or adding some up pressure at the forend if it seems to help), adjusting the trigger pull, and possibly recrowning the barrel. There are a lot of other things that could be done from bedding the scope bases, lapping/aligning the scope rings, and other things that might or will help improve or maintain accuracy.

Matt,

Check out savageshooters.com. The contributors on that site know Savages inside and out and will be a lot of help.

Truing and Timing?

Sharp Shooter Supply offers truing and timing package of a Savage action ($105). They ensure the faces are square, recut the threads to be square, and alters the camming on the bolt. He also goes through the bolt to make sure everything is smooth. I have felt an action before and after and it made a huge difference in the feel when opening and closing. I can't say anything about the change in accuracy. Wasn't mine. The wait list is near a year. I am on the list.

I had my gunsmith square the face and barrel nut and check the threads on my Stevens project rifle. Added a aftermarket recoil lug. That is it. I swapped the triggers myself and went with the aftermarket, also an SSS.

Luck, tiny
