Wanted to provide an update for the national races for both the unlimited and factory class.
Georgia hosted their state tournament this past weekend and it impacted both the unlimited and factory rankings.
Steve Duvall won the unlimited portion of the tournament and picked up 22 points to close within less than 12 points to leader Allen Taylor. Allen was planning to make the trip to keep Steve at bay, but wasn’t able to go.
Harold Reynolds was able to grab a whopping 34 points winning the factory portion and thus has really jumped out ahead of Ron Herring. They still have a couple of matches at Ron’s home range plus I believe he plans on making it to the Texas State Tournament in Nov. so he can still rein in Harold if he stays up on the wheel.
Shelby Matoy is leading Darrek Biggs by 11 points in the Junior division, but there again still a few more matches before the dust settles.
The Agg. championship is real close for multiply shooters in both the unlimited and factory.
In the unlimited Les Williams, Mike McCoy, Rick Haley and Lisa Chacon are all within one point and anyone slips they could be out of the running easily.
The Factory is just as close with John Jospeh, Michael Blackard and Ron Herring all within striking distance of taking the crown.
The Kentucky boys shot last night but haven’t seen the results so all of the above could be affected with their scores.
This weekend both Texas clubs will be shooting.
San Angelo will be hosting a 4-card match Saturday, 9/23/2017 at 9 am.
Boerne will be hosting a 3-card match Sat. 9/23/2017 at 6:30 pm.
I suspect that a few shooters will be making both matches to grab some points since the drive between the ranges is only 3 hours.
For any information about the matches go to the ABRA site and check under clubs for contact information and/or call Joe or Lisa and they will be more than happy to help.
