Anybody tried Hodgdon's new 8208 in either the .222 or .222 Magnum?
Hodgdon's says it is the same as the old 8028 but then says it is not the same as the old 8208. As an aside, if it isn't the same as the original 8028, why do they use that number? Anyway, if you have used it, what were the results that you had?

Thanks.

I'm currently experimenting with lot# 4773 in a .223 Rem. (AR-15) I'm using a Hart 14 twist 28" barrel with 52, 7 ogive bullets of various manufacture (Gentner and BIB, so far). I'm in the 3500 FPS range and no presure signs, but I've run out of room in the case. All the brass is still new and I haven't had much of a chance to experiment with seating depth or neck tension yet, Groups are in the 1/2 moa vicinity. There's a lot of work yet to do. Unless you plan to do some work with heavier bullets, 8208 XBR might be a bit slow for a 222.
