I know the PPC crowd is jumping all over this powder (testing etc). But has anyone tested it in the 6 BR or 6.5 x 47 L or other cartridges yet ? Is this going to be a 30-32 gr case powder ? Will the benefits (purported)be there for the larger cases ? I know Hodgdon has loads listed for other cartridges .

What we are interested in is that all important "agging capability".

The truth is, there are a multitude of powders available that are in the burn window of a 6PPC; 322, Reloader-7, 2015, 748, N130, Norma 201, Tubal, etc. But, we tend to find the best agging capability with a very limited number, N133, along with 322, being the most suitable in the USA.

When a powder manufacturer puts load recommendations, they cover the entire senario from the fastes to the slowest. For instance, you can find loads for a 30-06 from IMR4064 all the way to H4831. Some manuals even list 3031 as a suitable powder with lighter bullets. Heck, that stuff is as fast as most 4198.

You can actually achieve about the same performance, velocity wise, from most of the powders listed, (from fast to slowest), but usually just a few will give that accuracy everybody wants in combination with acceptable velocity.

I might try it in my 30BR, although on paper, it appears to be a tad slow. It would probably run out of room in the case before it ever hit 2800 with a 112,
but if they all hit the X, what the heck.

Quite a few HBR Shooters use 322 in some of the more popular HBR chamberings. This new powder might be perfect for something like a 30x47.,

This might be a great powder for cases such as the 308 with 140 grn and lighter bullets out of 22 inch and shorter barrels........jackie

I have shot the XBR powder in three chamberings....6PPC, 6 Dasher, and 6XC. It is fast and accurate in the PPC and Dasher, but is a little too fast for the XC. The accuracy was good in the XC, but Re 17 will give one better velocity. It was very good in the Dasher with velocities above 3000 fps and superb accuracy. I shot 105 Berger bullets using up to 32 grains. This 32 gr loading seemed too hot, so I settled on 31 gr. Good shooting....James

Jackie ,The cases I'm looking at are the 6.5 x 222 mag 120-123gr bullets in a 15" barrel 8.5 twist, 6.5 IHMSA 123-140gr bullets 15" 8.5 twist and 26" barrels 8 twist, and for 7BR 100-120gr bullets 24 " barrel 10 twist.I use VV 133-35 in the 6.5x222mag and 4198 VV 135 748 in the 7 BR and VV135-140 748 with the 6.5 IHMSA.I realize the heavier bullets in the 6.5 IHMSA with the 26" barrel may not work but with the lighter weight bullets and XP pistol 15" barrels hopefully :D. I have ordered 2# of 8208 XBR but it might be a month or so before the order is recieved . So I'm trying to get some heads-up before hand
