Spc

I have one of the original 700's 24" bbl. Oh do I have loads. I have found the Sierra 135gr Match Kings to be sweet. The load is warm but bolt lift is easy. Look at Sierra's loads and work up. Also I seat the bullet long. When I get to my data I'll send info. I am interested in trying the Berger 130VLD's too. This cartridge comes alive in a bolt rifle in my opinion, lots of fun.

Loads

OK,
This is loads for a bolt action Remington 700, not for an AR platform gun.
Here is the direction I went, using Sierra 135gr Match Kings seated to 2.450" COL & RE10X- start at 25.5grs work up see how your gun like it, about 2450fps in my gun.
Sierra recomends 23.4gr with RE10X. They have TAC giving the best velocities with a load of 27.5grs. Sierra's COL is 2.340".
What I do know is that sticky bolt lift is not apparent until 70,000psi. I did P&V a load that produced just over this. Hot load but only a little increase in bolt lift. So beware. Good shooting.
