Anyone that shoots a 6.5X47 have a preference for loading dies and seating dies. I will be using the rifle for 1000 yards, I would like a FL die that I could change neck bushings. And a seating die with a mic that seats on the ogive. Any input would be appreciated, Thanks......................Mark

Redding makes FL sizing dies with neck bushings at a very good price. It's called "Type S". They also make an adjustable (mic) seating dies- the threaded type. If you want a seating die for an arbor press, Wilson makes one. It does not have the micrometer top though. Not sure if you can buy the micrometer top separate for the 6.5, I know you can for a 6mm. Sinclair and Bruno's sells what you need.

Al and Samuel Thanks for the fast reply, I will check into the Redding type S dies sounds like just what I am looking for.........................Mark

Jetdoc,

You asked for preferences on a BR board....... lots of people other than Redding make production dies too BUT....... they won't match your chamber.

HUNTER3401, could you share which reamer print matches the Redding die?

dies

I got a set of rcbs gold medal dies in . two die set mic.seater and FL bushing die from Natchez . The front of the seater is open above the press and you drop the bullet in the cutaway section of the die .the bullet drops down and is held in place by a collar till you seat it . seemed to work great was a customers die and i only loaded one round to show him operation . T.R.

Jim Carstenson at JLC precision can take a redding body bump die ($27) and 10 pieces of 2x fired brass and convert it to a FL bushing size die custom honed for your chamber for around $80 and under 30 days normally.

Look for his contact info here (search) or at 6mmbr.com under the "tools" section

Al,
I looked for the reamer print and did not have a copy. The reamer and print is at Leonard Baity's gunshop. I just asked Dave Kiff for a minimal spec. match reamer when I ordered it right after the 6.5x47L came out. It sizes the shoulder about 1 1/2 thou, about like my Redding 6BR die does. I remember my 6.5x47L has a .290 neck and .160 freebore. The fb is plenty long for any 140-142g bullet. The rifle likes the 130Berger VLD's. They are seated about half the way up the neck. I might have the fb shortened to .125 before I chamber another barrel.
