I have a Savage Model 12 with a 1 in 8 twist that puts 3 shots in one hole and then 2 shots beside the 3. It doesn't matter what bullet, bullet weight, powder charge, or primer. The groups will either tighten or open up depend on the load. But that is how it groups. The rifle shoots good, but those 2 shots drive me nuts. And its not the first 3 shots in the same hole. It is usually 2,3,and 4. And 1 and 5 are the two "fliers". I have had the barrel re-crowned and the stock is pillar and glass bedded. I've tightened the stock from 30 - 60 in#'s and swapped out the scope. It's got a Nightforce BR on it now. Right now I'm loading 41 grns of H4350 with 140 AMAX and 39 grns of VARGET with a 120 AMAX. I've tried Sierra's and Bergers and they all group the 3 and 2 for a 5 shot group. I'm beginning to think it is just how the barrel is going to shoot. I would like to hear any advise y'all might have.
