30ML amber glass bottles??

I need little bottles for my cleaning fluids.

I've been searching the net for days looking for 1oz medicine bottles, glass, leakproof lids with flat side(s).

I used to buy them at the local pharmacy by the dozen and they've all went to plastic. Where can I buy plain brown glass 1oz bottles?

And puh-leeze don't recommend the junk Brownell's/Sinclair advertises as "solvent bottles."

Check the Fisher Scientific web site and search for amber sample bottles. There are several listed as "packers", which imply they are square. None listed as brown. Just amber.

Thanks Doug and Tom but no joy here...... neither site has the plain old med'cine bottles of yore.

I might have to switch to round and replace all my velcro pads with little sections of pipe!!

Some more info.

The perfect bottle has at least one flat side, next best is oval.

The perfect dropper has a glass pipette and the squeezy rubber portion is shaped like a wide-brimmed hat where the brim of the hat effects the seal inside the lid.

A less perfect solution includes a flat sided glass bottle with a good plastic lid (teflon/ptfe seal) and a separate glass pipette dropper.

I made the mistake of sharing my cleaning methods with some people and now I'm short of bottles. I had no idea they'd go away on me or I'd have bought cases.

Al, the bulbs on those bottles may not hold up under the abuse most bore cleaning solvents will put them through. Even the fumes may cause them to harden and crack. I say this from 30+ years experience in chemistry labs.

thanks Larry on the dropper bulb situation. Currently all my setups incorporate locking screw-on lids w/separate droppers and this is ok. If I COULD find a dropper that holds up though......as I said, it would be "ideal." I would still store using the lids but in some situations it's hoovis to screw a lid on between uses in the field. Dropper lid makes this convenient. My current crop of glass pipette droppers seems to have really good bulbs, still soft and pliable after 6-8yrs use and no stickiness/deterioration
