308Win ammo for deer?

150 grain favorite? Fed Power Shok?, Win Power Point? Rem Core Lock?
Any other Kind? Thanks...

Do I need all-copper bullets here in Kali?

I'll bet 100$ they all shoot 1 to 1 1/5 " and then better depending on rifle at 100 yards and deer die fairly easy. Save a buck and buy whats on sale. Copper in California? do what they do. I do have a friend that swears by the fed. 150 gr on our blacktail.

Odd post. I don't see this as a hunting site. Maybe hunting tales would break things up?

For me , I use a Savage 1899 saddle ring carbine in 25-35 win made around 1917, with peep sight, makes it more personal. My dog and a .44 mag as back up in case a browny wants my catch.

308 for Deer

This query leaves you in an excellent position to start reloading.All barrels are different in their taste for bullets/powder.
 
.308 bullet

I shot a elk in New Mexico with a 165 Barnes bullet in a .308. That Barnes bullet would take care of the all copper deal. I felt a little underguned with a .308 for elk but it got the job done.
 
Most of these factory loads with solid copper bullets seem to cost way more than lead core ammo. Is that what we have to look forward to here in Kali?

I've never tried the all copper bullet myself but a month ago I was wasting time at a friends house while he skinned an average size blacktail. We were pretty impressed with the barnes he loaded.
The bullet mushroomed just like the ad with sharp peeled back edges and all, just short of coming out the other side.
I hope to shout that if the all copper are made mandatory for hunting it doesn't hit this state. I couldn't afford to replace my inventory.
