.308 jacketed bullets for a .30 Herritt

Some years ago, Sierra and Hornady made 125-grain (or so), .308 caliber, jacketed bullets for pistols like the .30 Herritt. They don't seem to be offered any more -- what is a good substitute for a game bullet for a Contender/Herritt?

TIA

before the bullet makers made specific bullets for the single shot pistols i used nosler partitions. the front portion is dead soft and will mushroom at really slow bullet speeds and the rear partition will help penetrate thru an animal making leakers at both ends. in the past i had a 357 Herrett, 7TCU, and 7BR. the Herrett was a bear to handle, even with a 14" Contender. thats one cartridge i should have had ported. Charles, hornady offers a 160 gr leverevolution bullet for the 30-30. this may fill the bill. first i would test expansion in some type of medium. as stated before nosler offers a 150gr partition which would give you more fps at target. i used 140 gr partitions satisfactorally in the 7BR on whitetails which probably is close to same fps as a 150 in your Herrett. best of luck, Fred
