My new toy just showed up. Looking for some short cuts in the load development department. 300 WSM 1-11 Braughton, 210 Berger VLD. From what I have gatherd....H4350 is THE most widely used..... How about the new RL 17? MRP? Does it matter if its regular H4350 or the SC verson?

There will be no more whining and crying about not having the right equipment for HG...............IT'S GO TIME!!!!!:D

Thanks,
Tod

I won't give any load data on here because the last time I was shot down by a few "know it alls",but I will tell you to use the H4350-I don't think they make it in the short cut version???????But if I'm wrong I'm sure I'll be corrected.
Also try 210m's and cci br-2 see which one works best on paper and not over the chronoy!
Look for 2825-2850 fps.

I thought you were a 300 Wtby guy???/??LOL

I am a 300 wby guy, but I baught a used HG with 6-700 rounds down a WSM. Came with 100 prepped brass and all the dies......gotta at least try it. But don't panic...Spencer has my new 1-10 twist tube, and my 300 wby reamer is only 3 shipping days away from him, should he need it!!!;)

I would have thought I would have gotten a few more responces since everyone claims the 300 WSM to be the new KING, and "everyone" is shooting it.:D

Maybe today will be better. I am not looking for specific loads, just the "right" powder/ primer combo.......

Thanks,
Tod

They all don't shoot as good as Matt's and Kathy's, I'd start at 60 grains of 4350 and go up. Kathy's likes 61.5 of 4350 with the 210 Bergers! I even shot a 99 with it in a shoot off so I know its the gun. Ha Ha

I have an FN SPR 300 wsm and it seems to like the Berger 210's, H4350 @ 62.0g, avg. velocity 2795.
Since finding your favorite powder these days is hard and few, Ive also tried IMR 7828ssc @ 67.0g, avg. velocity 2890.
Also, be sure you barrel twist is fast enough for the 210's
