Can 300 Weatherby brass be fire-formed from 300 H&H brass? Maybe that is stretching the 300 H&H cases too much?

Yes Winchester brass is also much better brass. Take a dremel and section one of each and you'll see what I mean.

After fire-forming my recommendation is to turn case necks after 2 firings.

In my experience of fire-forming from something other than same chambering is case necks and shoulders get thick and work hardened quickly, especially in big magnums.

Annealing case necks would also be a recommendation. Although this will not cure a possibility of thick shoulders, it will make it easier to correctly resize neck and push shoulders back slightly when full length resizing.

Just my 2 cents.

That's the way .300 (and most other older) Weatherby cases were formed before the factories started making them.

Use new made brass or the shoulders will spit while fire forming .
I fired some older Winchester factory .300 H&H loads in a Weatherby Mk.V and had 4 split out of 20.

You might have to anneal current brass first before loading to get consistent head space.
