First off, this is not a BR rifle. It is a custom Mini Mauser with a lightweight 22" barrel and a walnut stock. It will be another Tin Can shooter. Beside the regular 6PPC powder I have available H4198, V130, AA2015, AA2230, and Scots Brigadier 4197. I have some BL C 1 and 2 also. I will be shooting 52gr BR bullets of different manufacture. It has a no neck turn chamber.

Hi Butch I think Gene Beggs would know. In an article about 220 Beggs he recommends N133,H322,Benchmark,8208 and Norma 200.

Mike, I meant that I had the normal BR powders like V133, 8208. H322, Lt32, and Data68 also. Give me a starting load or 2, Thanks.

Butch,
I have several 220 Beggs barrels. I also shoot a 52gr bullet and have have good success with LT 32. Gene recommends 26 gr. I have also done well with Benchmark.

Rick,
I have lots of powder, but never bought the Benchmark. For my purpose I think the LT will work, Thanks.

Butch before LT-32 came along, my go to powder was H4198 Ext. 25 to 26.3 grains shoots great with Cheek's 52 grain flat base bullets. I've tried most all the benchrest powders and never found anything that would not shoot. Since LT-32 became available, I have used nothing else; it's perfect for the cartridge. My pet load is 25.5 grains of LT-32 with bullets seated 'just off' the lands using medium neck tension.

You'll have fun with that little jewel. Can't wait to see it. Come out and shoot it in the tunnel. :)

Later,

Gene Beggs
