I am getting back into precision shooting after a 10 year absence. I retired! Anyway, while reviewing my old notes and targets concerning my 22 PPC I was reminded that my powder charge at 27.9 grains of H322 is a bit higher than is stated in my old Nosler manual. I use a 55 grain Vmax in this load for my Cooper rifle and seat the bullet just short (-.010) of where the bullet touches the lands. My loads for the 52 grain Berger and Watson Match bullets were pushed to 28.4 grains of H322. I've never had a shiny mark on the case head or a stretched primer pocket using the Lapua 220 Russian cases. Also, the Cooper has a 24 inch heavy barrel.
Do any of the benchrest experts on this thread have experience with 22 PPC and H322 powder? If so, can you give me an idea of where your best accuracy is? And am I flying too high as far as pressure goes here? Thanks in advance for your help. I have not been here in a while but this forum always had many knowledgeable shooters as regulars.
