The Holton Gun and Bow Club has again been awarded the distinct honor of hosting the NBRSA Group National event for 2021. The event will take place September 20 – 25, 2021. The range address is :6201 Crystal Lake Rd., Holton, MI 49425, GPS coordinates N43 23.742 W86 05.2566. See our website at holtongunandbowclub.com.
Shooting will begin on Monday the 20th with Unlimited 100yds., 8 – 10 shot groups with full rotation.
Tuesday will be LV 100 in the morning and Sporter 100 in the afternoon, full rotation.
Wednesday will be HV 100 in the morning, with partial awards and other events in the afternoon.
Thursday will be unlimited 200 yds.
Friday will be LV 200 and Sporter 200.
Saturday will be HV 200, with remainder of awards presented.
We have about 70 campsites available, most with 30 amp electrical service (sorry, no 40 amp). Some sites have water available, so if you must have a water hook up, please let us know. There are no sites with sewer, but there is a dump station for when you leave, and the honey wagon will also be making the rounds.
There is room in the loading barn and clubhouse areas for about 50 loading sites with provided tables, and additional space if you want to set up your own table. Please let us know if you need a loading table, so we can save you one.
We will also be hosting the Eastern Reagionals 2 weeks before the nationals. If you want to shoot the Regionals and then stay over at the club for the Nationals, that can be accomodated. Or if you want to just leave your camper at the club until the nationals, that can be done also.
The Harrington Inn in Freemont has some rooms set aside for our shooters. Just call them at 231-924-3083.
There will be breakfast and lunch available at the clubhouse every day. There will also be “grab and go” food and drink items available. We hope to have at least one steak fry dinner during the week.
We are also planning to have a moving backer target shoot and/or a powderpuff shoot. There will be practice targets available for those who want to sharpen their skills after the daily matches are completed.
It is our hope that this years Nationals can be something of a reunion event for those that haven't been active in benchrest for a while. If you know of someone who has not been shooting for a while, give them an invite to join us at this years get together at Holton. We sure would like to see some of our old friends again.
If you want to sponsor a set of wind flags, please let us know soon, so we can place shooters on the flags of their choice. We will need 8 sets of 5 rows of flags, enough for 40 benches. This could change if we can't get enough shooters, but we are hoping and planning for the best.
If you want us to rent a golf cart for you, we have a place locally that can work with us on that. Just let us know. Also, if you shoot left handed or have any other special needs, please let us know and we will do our best to provide.
For pre registration or any questions please call Larry Feusse at 989-513-3702, e mail lrfeusse@hotmail.com or Connie Wyant Wellman at 231-747-2602, e mail sassyalli7612@gmail.com
