This match was held over Memorial Day weekend, with the 100 & 200 yd. legs at the Orrington Rifle Club and the 300 yd. at Lincoln County Rifle Club. This match was originally a 100/200 at Orrington held near July 4. When LCRC added a 300 yd. range it was decided to move the shoot to a 3 day weekend and add the 300 yd. leg.
We at ORGC and LCRC want to say thanks to all the competitors from Maine, Connecticut, New York and Virginia who chose to spend the weekend with us and compete. The weather was fine, with a bit of light precip Monday at LCRC, but the overcast and humidity produces some of the best shooting conditions at 300 yards anyone could expect. LCRC can be a killer at 300 when the tide changes and brings in lots of cold ocean air to mix with the warmer inland atmosphere. Anyone who has shot there knows that you are more apt to get a wtf day than not.
There were two 750's (Wayne France and Randy Jarvais) shot and 4 250's at 300 yards! Quite a testament to the conditions and the shooters ability. Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who threw their hat into the competitive ring. Results are here, follow the link. Thanks again --Greg
