2016 Kane Pennsylvania State Championship Match Recap
55 shooters journeyed to Kane, PA this past weekend to compete at one of the NBRSA Eastern Region’s favorite annual Group matches, the Pennsylvania State Championship (and… pie eating contest) at the Kane Fish and Game Club.
Upon arriving, Match Director, Steve Timpano and the entire Kane crew had the grounds in immaculate condition, in preparation for everyone’s annual migration arrival to Kane!
As most everyone now knows, The Kane Pennsylvania State Championship match has evolved into one of the Eastern Region’s best attended Group matches, as the members of the club really pride themselves in running a great match and making sure everyone is very well fed with great meals all day long and…. of course their legendary pies!
We are truly blessed to have so many great matches and ranges in the Eastern Region, you just can’t help but have a great time with the great cast of characters who show up!
Many of the shooters arrived from near and far on Thursday and Friday to set-up and get their rifles in tune. Without missing a beat, the porch at Kane on Friday evening lit-up with laughter quickly, as everyone got together to catch up, a have glass or three of their favorite beverages.
We all regaled in stories from past Kane matches with slip and water slides escapades - No names - (Brad Lewis), sipping Harry Buffalo out of plastic trash cans, Black Bears and styrafoam cigarette smoking deer on the loose, steak roasts, Stan Buchtel parading around in a G-string and even someone driving their Toyota truck around the wind flag obstacle course. With pictures to prove it! Oh, My!
Many laughs were had indeed, while keeping the memories of our growing list of lost Canadian and American BR friends. I was very proud to see many empty-chairs purposely saved in our circle of story telling to honor each of our lost close friends... Please keep them all in your prayers…
